Make in India is a national program designed to transform India into a global manufacturing hub. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) is the nodal agency executing Make in India. In our event the panelists will discuss the road ahead for the initiative and its links with the Quality Council of India, an autonomous body under the DIPP that promotes high standards in areas like education, healthcare, environment, infrastructure, governance and social sectors.
The International Innovation Corps offers a unique opportunity for bright, young minds to play an active role in building and implementing innovative solutions to some of India’s toughest social problems. The IIC aims to jump start the process of problem-driven innovation in the Indian public sector by connecting teams of bright, talented and committed graduates from Indian universities and the University of Chicago with Indian public sector enterprises for paid, 13-month assignments that tackle discrete and tractable but important social challenges. The IIC trains its fellows in the US and India, organizes them into teams based on skills, and places teams at Indian public sector host institutes.
